The Birds of Isleworth Ait

On a quick bike ride towards Syon Park this afternoon, Holly and I stopped off at the point where the southernmost point of the park meets the River Thames.

There, we discovered a low tide, and Isleworth Ait, a small island owned by Thames Water that is home to a small nature reserve. The spot is quite popular for people wishing to feed ducks; as we discovered, there was quite an assortment of aquatic birds floating around in cliques, not just ducks.

In fact, the whole thing seemed like something out of West Side Story, or any film set in an American high school, with different groups of animals floating around in their own select groups, fighting amongst themselves and against other groups. It was quite interesting to watch.

As a result, all of these photographs are of the birds, and many are shots with some action in them.

Enjoy!
