Bike in the Bushes

Whilst running around herding kittens the other day, I came across a bike locked to the fence alongside my flat. I’d forgotten it was there, to be honest.

Some time ago I had attempted to shoot a HDR photo of the bike, as it was in shade with bright sunlight behind it. Back then I was in the earliest infancy of this facet of photography, and I was using Photomatix as a HDR plugin which doesn’t offer as fine-grained control as HDR Efex Pro, and the image wasn’t good enough to share. Unless I already shared it and forgot about it already.

As Zelda wasn’t making too concentrated an effort to escape at the time, I decided to have another go at shooting the bike to see if I could get a better result.

I’m much happier with the result this time out. As my friend Jon Tobey is often telling me, anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice.
