Classic Cars

My first excursion lineside at the Bluebell Railway was originally inspired by the chance to photograph some classic Jaguars (the cars, not the animal). Sadly, there was no sign of the sort of classics I was hoping to see (specifically an E-type or two), but randomly, at one point when I passed through the car park at Sheffield Park Station, it was full of a bunch of classic cars. Mostly Morris Minors, but there were a few others as well. I have no idea why they were there, but it was a nice tangent from chasing trains.

Luckily they were all in a line, and apart from the other modern cars in the car park, so I could get some relatively clean photos of them.

My parents used to have a Morris Minor, before I came along, so I do have a bit of a soft spot for them.

Some of them, I suspect, were not entirely stock.

Most of them, though, looked pretty traditional (although this one was annoyingly parked next to a modern car).

There weren’t all Morris Minors. There was one Dolomite Sprint amongst the cars.

And the one Jaguar I felt was worth photographing? This one XJS. Everything else was just a bit too dull and modern.

Hopefully I’ll have another chance to photograph an E-type at some point in the future. In the meantime, the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run will be happening in November, and I’m planning on trying to get out and photograph that.
